1. Let us know you’re ready
Send an email to us at [email protected] to let us know that you would like to begin onboarding and who our contact person would be at your office. You can also use this email address to ask any questions you may have about the product or process.
2. Send Bracket Part Numbers
Before you can use a bracket set in the bracket placement software, we will first need to scan the brackets and add them to your bracket library. The first step in this process is to send us your bracket part numbers. You can find a part or item number for each bracket on your purchase invoice. Once you’ve located your bracket part numbers, please email them to [email protected].
3. Send Brackets for Scanning
The next step is having your brackets scanned. Please package at least one of each bracket set and ship to Specialty Appliances along with a note indicating that the brackets are to be used for scanning and who we should contact at your office with questions should we have them. Once the scanning process is complete, we will use that bracket set on a live case. You may also send a large quantity of brackets to our lab to keep an inventory of. We will use one of those brackets for scanning and return to your inventory once scanning is complete. The scanning process can take between 2-4 weeks.
Please ship your bracket set(s) to the address below.

4. Install Software
Once bracket scanning is complete, we will reach out to you to schedule time to install the software and brackets on your computer(s). This process typically takes less than 15 minutes per computer.
5. Doctor Training
The last step in the 3DiB onboarding process is educate the doctor on how the software is used to review, make adjustments to, and approve digital bracket placement. This process usually takes less than 30 minutes as the software is very user friendly.
After 3DiB Onboarding
Once the onboarding process is complete, you can begin submitting cases for 3DiB. To send a case, simply complete the indirect bonding Rx (find that here) and submit it in the Specialty Appliances customer portal, here. Make sure to check the “Digital/3DiB” option in the TYPE OF BRACKET PLACEMENT section of the Rx. Additionally, if you have multiple bracket sets in your bracket library, please always specify which set we should use in the notes section of the Rx.
When providing brackets for indirect bonding cases, you have the option to send a new set for each case submitted or establish a bracket inventory at Specialty Appliances. If you choose to keep a bracket inventory at our lab, please make sure to read and follow the bracket inventory guidelines, here.
